A new Lowe’s distribution center has opened in Duncan creating 150 jobs.
The 1.3 million square foot facility at 21 Inland Parkway will begin shipping appliances this week out of the Inland 85 Logistics Center near Inland Port in Greer.
“Adding this facility enables us to provide faster and more reliable delivery for our customers, which improves their overall delivery experience,” said Robin Bornkamp, Lowe’s vice president of supply chain strategy and network. “It will help ensure that we have inventory in the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity to meet our customers’ needs.”
The Duncan distribution center will supply inventory for more than 100 Lowe’s stores in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.
Daily shipments of appliances and other items including riding mowers, grills and patio furniture will be shipped from the new center to cross-dock facilities.
Saddle Creek Logistics Services will run and staff the Duncan facility for Lowe’s.
“Lowe’s and Saddle Creek have forged a strong partnership over the years, and we are excited for this newest opportunity to serve the Lowe’s supply chain,” said Butch Riggleman, Saddle Creek vice president of regional warehouse operations.
