Bosnia’s Union Foods building tortilla chips factory in Orasje

SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), October 17 (SeeNews) – Bosnia’s distributor of consumer goods Union Foods is building a factory for tortilla dough and tortilla chips in Orasje, an investment worth over 35 million marka ($17.4 million/17.9 million), local media reported.

The factory is expected to start operations in 2024, Union Foods’ director Damir Juka said in an interview with business magazine Poslovne Novine published last week.

Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia will be the factory’s main target markets, Juka added.

The construction of the factory has started earlier this year, Juka said, without providing further details.

Established in 1997, Citluk-based Union Foods distributes a range of chilled and non-chilled products. The company also produces wine, aluminum foil and baking paper and operates a restaurant.
