Free Coat Distribution Planned For Morristown Families In Need

MORRISTOWN, NJ — With cold weather on the way, Market Street Mission will hold its annual coat distribution on Nov. 5. New jackets and coats in various sizes – and for all family members – will be distributed for free to those in need.

For more than 30 years, the Market Street Mission has hosted the annual coat giveaway event. The event will take place on the Morristown Green between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

In the event of inclement weather, the coat giveaway will be held at 9 Market Street.

Donations of new outerwear will be accepted at the Market Street Mission Thrift Store, located at 25 George Street, Monday through Saturday, except Wednesdays, between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Children’s coats, as well as XL Men’s and Women’s sizes, are currently in high demand, according to officials.

Market Street Mission, is a non-profit organization that ministers to the hungry, homeless and those struggling with addiction in northern New Jersey.

“We aim to provide an addiction recovery plan that will guide men in making a “Life Change” by giving people the tools they need to find long-term sobriety,” Market Street Mission said.

The Market Street Mission, founded in 1889, is an experienced organization with a proven method of combating alcoholism, substance abuse, hunger and homelessness in northern and central New Jersey.
