The Innovative SOft SkilLs to Maritime Education and Training (iSOL-MET) Project, led by the University of the Aegean (Greece), focuses on the creation of a comprehensive Maritime skills course programme for multidisciplinary and multicultural groups of students – through case study methodology – aiming to bridge the gap between the shipping world requirement and the needs of maritime universities’ students and maritime professionals.

The consortium, consisting of the University of the Aegean (Greece), Nikola Yonkov Vaptsarov Naval Academy (Bulgaria), TC Piri Reis University (Türkiye), Constanta Maritime University (Romania), Maritime University of Szczecin (Poland), PPP Learn (Greece), and the CPMR – through its Balkan and Black Sea Commission (BBSC), is expected to design a case study Handbook collection, evaluation tools for soft skills based on the Assessment Centre concept, provide the link between academia and industry, and therefore contribute to making maritime professions more appealing and competitive.

This Multiplier Event is focused on presenting the state of play, challenges ahead and the youth’s perspective, and discussing with representatives from the EU institutions and key stakeholders, ways to encourage cooperation between a wide array of stakeholders across Europe.
