Increased Costs, Supply Chain Present Challenges for County Road Repairs – KCHA News

The supply chain combined with increased costs for materials are creating challenges for county road repairs.

Chickasaw County Engineer Roman Lensing told his Board of Supervisors this week that increased costs make it tough to weigh doing projects now and later.

Lensing says balancing the financials will determine how much repair work they can do on County Road V-18 between Highway 18 and Alta Vista.

Floyd County Engineer Jacob Page told Floyd County Supervisors this week that they and their contractor continue to play the waiting game to replace a bridge on Jersey Avenue that’s been shut down since May.

Page also noted that Red Bull Road just south of Highway 18 in northwest Floyd County will be closed this week and next for the replacement of a box culvert, with the project to begin Tuesday (10.12).
