🌱 DalMoros Pasta Heads To Tampa + Hurricane Ian Impacts Supply Chain

Here are the top stories today in Tampa:

1. An apartment complex maintenance office in Tampa was destroyed in a fire early Thursday morning. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to 14010 Saulk Court near Bruce B. Downs Boulevard at 3:57 a.m. after a resident reported smoke coming from the building. No injuries were reported at the scene. (Tampa Patch)

2. DalMoros, a pasta to-go concept, is expanding across the bridge from St. Pete to Tampa at Armature Works food hall. The concept was created in Venice, Italy by Chef Gabriele Dal Moro and also has locations in Barcelona, Spain and cities throughout Canada. No opening date is available at this time. 3. Hillsborough County leaders are asking the public for patience as yard waste continued to be an issue after Hurricane Ian. More work could also be done to prevent future power outages in partnership with Tampa Electric Company (TECO). Over 200,000 people lost power in Tampa despite Hurricane Ian only hitting the area with tropical storm winds. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times)

4. Tampa police arrested a 24-year-old man Thursday in connection with a homicide on Aug. 24 at a gas station in Tampa. The incident happened at a Shell Gas Station at 2924 N. 50th St. Derick P. Bowden is charged with first-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. (Tampa Patch)

5. Truck deliveries decreased 49 percent to the Tampa Bay area after Hurricane Ian, according to a supply chain tracking company called FourKites. It could take four to eight weeks for the supply chain situation to improve with most items impacted being non-essential. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Business Journal)

  • Hyde Park Preservation Inc. (HPPI) is hosting its first historical homes garden tour, The Old Hyde Park Garden Tour, on Saturday, Dec. 3. The tour will include live music, food, and more. Tickets are now available online. (Tampa Patch)
  • Tampa General Hospital shared, “Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Cancer Institute has established an adult Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Cell Therapies unit that focuses on treating patients with aggressive blood cancers such as leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma as well as other cancers.” (Press Release Desk)
  • California’s Merit Logistics is relocating its headquarters to Tampa at 601 S. Magnolia Avenue in South Tampa’s Hyde Park. The move will create 20 jobs in the area immediately, according to the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council. (St. Pete Catalyst)
  • OneBlood is teaming up with Dunkin’ Donuts across the Tampa Bay area this weekend to encourage blood donations to help the victims of Hurricane Ian after disruptions in southwest Florida. Those who donate at one of the participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations will receive a $5 gift card. (WTSP)
