Fire reported at pallet warehouse in northeast Houston

Investigators on Wednesday were working to determine was caused a fire to rip through a warehouse in northeast Houston

At about 4 p.m., the Houston Fire Department responded to a two-alarm warehouse fire in at 4847 Blaffer, at a business that buys and sells wooden pallets. The fire department said the fire burned several bales of cardboard inside a warehouse and damaged multiple trailers

Black smoke and flames could be seen pouring out of a warehouse building as firefighters hosed down the building from the outside, according to aerial footage broadcast by Houston TV station ABC 13.

In a tweet, the fire department said that there were no reported injuries at the site.

The fire was reported extinguished around 8:30 p.m. No cause for the fire was given, but the department said that arson investigators were at the scene.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital during the incident because of possible dehydration, the fire department said. No one else was injured.
