Korean startupVEStellaLab has developed the world’s first indoor parking navigation system for guiding autonomous vehicles to overcome the problem. It is a company that specializes in parking solutions based on indoor precise positioning. Its “Watchmile” service guides empty parking spaces in real-time in indoor parking lots.
The technology combines closed-circuit cameras (CCTVs), IoT-based sensors, and smartphone gyro sensors to determine the exact location of the driver. Vision AI then analyses the real-time data to offer a fast search for empty parking spaces. The search can also be optimized based on the preferences by the driver. Once parked, Watchmile also provides information about parking time and the exact location of the vehicle.
Watchmile reduces the drivers’ parking time by more than 70% during the parking process and dramatically reduces fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions. VEStellaLab’s solution can help indoor parking lots, multi-parking venues, and buildings to reduce labor costs and provide an efficient parking system. VEStellaLab is currently providing solutions with Incheon international airport and others.
This startup plans to enter the North American market and introduce airport parking lots and Large-scale buildings in Metropolitan cities. VEStellaLab wants to expand its technology beyond the automotive space in the future by entering autonomous robot technology and smart logistics.
