Mercedes-Benz’s presence in the United States has been marked for many years. Undoubtedly this market is attractive to the Germans, And for this reason, a part of its production is carried out in the country in addition to other attractions such as its museums.
Not importing a Silver Arrow vehicle results in significant money savings for consumers interested in bringing in a new production unit. Sure, not all the options available in Mercedes’ repertoire are made in the country.
However, one of the most anticipated cars by fans of the brand will be assembled in the North American region. Here is the Mercedes-Benz EQS, the new SUV that the company is betting on.
The car is produced exclusively at its plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, marking a significant step forward in the company’s goal of manufacturing eight 100% electrified cars in seven locations on three different continents by 2022.
In addition, not only will the EQS be produced, but electric EQS SUV and EQE SUV models will also be born there.
“Our production network is very well positioned for rapid and sustainable scaling of the volume of electric vehicles. With the addition of the new EQS SUV to our electrified production portfolio, we continue our strategy to go fully electric by the end of the decade. We have reached another important milestone.” Jörg Berger, a member of the company’s board of directors.

At the Tuscaloosa factory, production methods are used that attract attention in the automotive market, as well as serve as an example for other companies in the region.
Its manufacturing model is based on state-of-the-art digital, sustainable, efficient and flexible processes that contribute significantly to mass production of cars without much impact on the environment.
On the other hand, from the year 2024, all energy needed to operate the plant will be provided by renewable energy sources, as part of Mercedes-Benz’s objectives of operating with neutral carbon dioxide emissions.
“…I am confident that our great team at Tuscaloosa will make the electric SUV another global success,” concluded Berger.
