Palestine Action scale trees and set up camp outside Israeli arms factory

PALESTINE ACTION scaled trees and set up camp with hammocks outside UAV Engines in Shenstone, Staffordshire, at the weekend in an escalation of action to push the military drone manufacturer out.

The Elbit Systems factory has been a prime target for activists over the last two years, with five protests taking place in August and July alone.

The firm provides 85 per cent of Israel’s drone fleet used in attacks against Palestinians.

In a statement from the camp, a Palestine Action spokesperson said: “We are here to pressure the war criminals to leave Britain and shut their killer factories.

“We welcome community support and engagement in support of the Palestinians on the receiving end of this factory’s weaponry.

“Elbit’s net contribution to the world is one of abject misery, pain and suffering. Their business has a massive human cost, and so on our part, no cost is too big to stop them.

“Rain or sun, we’ll hold our ground, resist, remain and in the end, we will #ShutElbitDown.”
