Get paid by the city — 9th Annual Procurement Vendor Fair

CHICAGO — All of the goods and services purchased by the City of Chicago have to come from somewhere and someone, and the Department of Procurement Services (DPS) is trying to show people how to land those contracts.

Thursday DPS hosted its 9th Annual Procurement Vendor Fair to provide information, education, and networking opportunities for the business community. Mayor Lori Lightfoot spoke at the opening event where she touched on some of the recent changes made by the city, as well as changes she would still like to see happen.

Lightfoot noted multiple times that she believes the city’s contracts should go to local businesses and that they can make those business owners millionaires. See her full remarks in the video above.
