PS denies corruption allegations in fertiliser procurement

MINISTRY of Agriculture permanent secretary Green Mbozi says he is ready to be investigated on allegations of engaging in corrupt practices leading to the listing of Alpha Commodities for the supply of fertiliser. The Ministry of Agriculture has availed six firms as the best-evaluated bidders for the supply of fertiliser for the 2022/23 farming season. In a notice of the best-evaluated bidders placed in the Daily Nation Newspaper dated August 19, 2022, the ministry’s head of procurement and supplies unit Anon Madima named the companies as Samar Agro Investments, Stoutone Investments, Arizam Investment, Conchak Investments, Alpha Commodities and Evergreen Fertilizer Limited. “The Procurement Committee has authorized to award the contract for the procurement requirement to the best evaluated bidder as……
