MARKET LIVE: Sensex up 100 pts; Smallcaps upbeat, Energy index rises 2%

Domestic continued to trade firm in Friday’s intra-day trade on the BSE. Frontline indices Nifty50 slipped rose over 20 points to trade above 17,650 levels and the S&P BSE rose 100 points to trade at 59,432 levels
 
Broader outperformed benchmark indices as Smallcap 100 and Midcap 100 surged up to 0.7 per cent.


Power Grid, NTPC, Tata Steel, SBI, IndusInd Bank were the top contributors to the benchmark indices. Maruti, Nestle India, Tech Mahindra, on the other hand, weighed on benchmark indices

 

Sectorally, Realty and Nifty Metal led the pack. Nifty IT, Nifty Auto, Nifty Media, however, were losers in trade.
 
Among individual stocks, shares of Bharat Forge rallied 8 per cent to Rs 796.55 on the BSE in Friday’s intra-day trade after the company reported in-line performance for the June quarter (Q1FY23). READ MORE
