Ruth Chayinda-Transparency International Zambia -TIZ- Executive Director MAURICE NYAMBE has backed President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s call to review the procurement processes in the country.
Mr. NYAMBE says there is need for the strengthening of laws that will protect the country’s public resources from being wasted.
He says most of the corruption cases in the last 10 years are mostly to do with procurement hence the need to put in place measures that will address this challenge.
Mr. NYAMBE adds that there is also need for law enforcement agencies to bring to book people found wanting so that it serves as a preventative measure for others.
Speaking with ZNBC News, Mr. NYAMBE said the meeting which President HICHILEMA was important because it also addressed the concerns that have been raised in the auditor General’s report.
