A fan of Animal Crossing: New Horizons pushes their creative skills to the limit by designing an impressive factory area on their island.

With so many features and activities that players can participate in within Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there is always something different for fans to do. The fanbase seems to enjoy filling their game time by personalizing their deserted island or creating unique Animal Crossing: New Horizons designs to share with the community. Recently, a fan of the life sim shared one of the custom areas they made on their island, seemingly putting their design skills to the test by using the industrial factory setting as a theme.
Right after Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched in 2020, the game immediately offered a lot of options when it came to island design and customization. Players have a say on the initial layout and scheme of their island, and can even place villagers in their chosen spots. Other features that players could play around with after the initial launch included terraforming and custom designs. This was later amplified by the Happy Home Paradise and free 2.0 update which gave players more in-game items to utilize and place around their island.
It is not surprising that Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans such as Redditor SkullQueenCrossing would make heavy use of the options given by the game to create the island design of their dreams. On their Reddit post, they shared a short video clip of a factory area they designed in their game, showcasing their design skills. In the footage, SkullQueenCrossing’s character can be seen walking through a highly industrialized looking space, complete with spinning gears, metal scaffolding, and dangerous-looking poison tanks. They even placed fire-spewing items and robotic arms to really give off that factory vibe.
A lot of comments on the Reddit thread praised SkullQueenCrossing’s work, given just how complicated the area design looked. Others commented that the layout reminded them of other series and games that had steampunk and industrial feels like Square Enix’s Nier Automata. Another Redditor also wanted to know if the designer had an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Dream Address, so they could visit the island and see the area for themselves. However, SkullQueenCrossing mentioned that the island was not complete yet, and that they did not have a Dream Address to share.
Seeing how perseverant and dedicated the Animal Crossing: New Horizons player base can be when it comes to customizing their island is incredibly inspiring. Though Nintendo has no intention of updating the game any further, the community can likely take comfort in the fact that its own members are the ones keeping the game alive through such unique and impressive content.
