As once-in-100-year events become more common and damage from extreme weather patterns increases, there’s never been a more critical time for New Zealanders to plan ahead.

New Zealand’s climate is changing and as it does, so must we. According to the Lloyd’s of London Risk Index Report, Aotearoa is the second riskiest country in the world for natural disasters, behind flood-prone Bangladesh.

While some Kiwis might underestimate the threat posed by severe weather events, the floods and storms in regions such as Canterbury, the West Coast, and Marlborough have brought the reality home for many families over the past year.
