3 workers die of asphyxiation at chowmein factory in Gajapati

Gajapati: In a tragic incident, as many as three workers died due to asphyxiation in a chowmein factory at Narayan Nagar in Mohana area of Gajapati district on Thursday.

Two among the deceased have been identified as Aruna Sahu of Berhampur, Prabhakar Dalei of Kampguda.

Reportedly, the youths were asleep on Wednesday night after switching on the heat gas machine to dry the noodles. As a result, they lost their lives inside the factory due to suffocation.

On getting the information, the local police and firefighters arrived at the spot, rescued them, and rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Mohana.

However, the doctors declared them brought dead. The identity of another youth is yet to be ascertained. Mohana Police has initiated a probe into the matter.
