Santa Barbara County officials cut a ribbon marking the completion of a project to pipe about 84 million gallons of recycled wastewater from Laguna County Sanitation District facilities to Waller Park, where it will be stored in the 1-million-gallon tank in background and used for irrigating turf at the park just south of Santa Maria.
Recycled wastewater from Laguna County Sanitation District will be stored in this 1-million-gallon tank, then used for irrigating the 64 acres of turf at Waller Park, reducing groundwater pumping by 84 million gallons a year.
