Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Chair Elisabeth Charles Steps Down

By Josh Beckerman

Elisabeth Charles, who was named chair of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Inc. in January, has stepped down for personal reasons and will remain on the board until the company’s Aug. 18 annual meeting.

Jeffrey Geygan was elected chair. Mr. Geygan joined the board in August 2021 and was interim chair from October through January. He is chief executive of Global Value Investment Corp., which owns 8.5% of RMCF.

Last year, after a proxy fight with AB Value Management LLC, RMCF shareholders chose not to re-elect then-chairman Rahul Mewawalla to the board. In May, the company named Robert J. Sarlls CEO, replacing Bryan Merryman, who had been interim CEO since November.

In May, RMCF said fourth-quarter revenue 38% to $32.3 million as stores recovered from pandemic-related closings.
