MANILA, Philippines — Four vehicles fell into sea when a cargo vessel tilted in the waters of Real Port in Quezon province on Friday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported yesterday.
In a Viber message to reporters, the PCG said a wing van loaded with frozen goods, two dump trucks with gravel and sand and a wing van with steel bars sank.
The Real police said the rolling cargoes were being loaded to the LCT Balesin when the accident occurred.
The cargo vessel, which is owned by Alphaland Balesin Island Club, was bound for Polillo island.
Police said the nine crewmembers and 14 passengers of the vessel, including the drivers of the vehicles that fell into the water, managed to swim toward the docking area. – Arnell Ozaeta
