A leading haulier has claimed that their lorries carrying fish have been “banned” from a CalMac ferry because the smell upsets tourists.
DR Macleod Ltd denies claims that there is a health risk to passengers from salmon effluent and says the travel restriction is to “free up more space for tourists”.
The row centres on daytime services on the Stornoway to Ullapool route and the liquid leakage from the salmon lorries.
