Skoda supply chain ‘disrupted significantly’ by war in Ukraine

Skoda Auto said its deliveries to customers was badly hit in the first quarter with deliveries down -25.4% to 186,200 vehicles.

The main reasons include the ongoing chip shortage and supply chain disruptions due to the war in Ukraine.

Christian Schenk, Skoda Auto Board Member for Finance and IT, said: “We can look back on an extremely challenging first quarter. In addition to the shortage of semiconductors, our supply chains were disrupted, in some cases significantly, due to the war in Ukraine.

Martin Jahn, Skoda Auto board member for sales and marketing said: “We started the new year optimistically on the strength of our new models, including the Fabia, Karoq and Enyaq Coupe iV. However, the war in Ukraine has slowed us down considerably.

In the UK in the first quarter Skoda sales fell 28.4%.
