Preston-based vegetable wholesaler Huntapac Produce receives funds for expansion

Preston-based vegetable wholesaler, Huntapac Produce, has received financial backing from Lombard, part of the NatWest Group. The £800,000 funding has enabled a fourth-generation Lancashire business to continue with its expansion plans.

It led to the purchase of two new Prinoth Panther dumpers, used in high volume, low ground pressure farming which allow growers to harvest crops year round, irrespective of weather conditions. The support package has also funded an investment in hybrid fleet vehicles and the installation of EV chargers.

Huntpac Produce has a network of farms around the UK, a packhouse located in Preston and a transport fleet allowing it to supply retailers 52 weeks of the year. It employs 550 people from around the UK with at least 350 employed locally in Lancashire.
