Basler to Acquire Stake in French Distribution Partner

Ahrensburg, Germany—Basler AG plans to purchase a 25.1% stake in the machine-vision distribution business of i2S, its long-time French partner.

Scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2022, the investment would allow the companies to create a joint venture, which would operate under the name Basler France.  Balser plans to acquire the remaining 74.9% stake in i2S on July 1, 2024.

Xavier Datin, CEO of i2S, will become president of Basler France.

Basler manufacturers imaging components for computer vision applications. In addition to area scan and line scan cameras, lenses, frame grabbers, light modules, and software, the company also markets embedded vision solutions, 3D products, and customized products and consulting services.

i2S, based in Pessac, Aquitaine, France, distributes standard machine vision components. It also provides imaging solutions for medical and underwater vision applications, as well as scanners to digitize information from fragile and historical books.
