Western District Police have located two cannabis crops in the western suburbs and arrested a man following investigations.
On Monday 25 April, Western District detectives searched a warehouse in Thebarton and located a large hydroponic cannabis crop. Police seized 163 mature cannabis plants and about 150 kilograms of dried cannabis.
Following investigations, a 42-year-old Tranmere man was arrested and charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled plant, possessing prescribed equipment and diverting electricity.
On Thursday 28 April, the ongoing investigation led police to a second warehouse in Welland. Officers found another hydroponic cannabis crop of 18 plants and one pound of cannabis bud.
The arrested man will be further charged with cultivating cannabis, trafficking a controlled drug and possessing prescribed equipment.
He was refused police bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, 29 April.
