A program on Materials Management Day was organized at the Human Resource Development Center of BSL under the joint aegis of IIMM, Bokaro Chapter and BSL. BSL Director-in-Charge Amarendu Prakash, ED (MM, P&A) VK Pandey, ED (Works) Sanjay Kumar, CGM In (Finance & Accounts) S. Rangani, CGM In ( Projects) Nirmalendu Ray, CMO (Medical and Health Services) Dr. Pankaj Sharma, former Executive Director (Materials Management) of SAIL, PK Jha along with Chief General Managers of various departments of BSL and officers of Materials Management Department were present on the occasion. Representatives of Tata Steel and M-Junction also participated in the program.
The theme of this year’s Materials Management Day is Risk and Resilience Management in Post Pandemic Supply Chain Management. During the program, the same subject matter was discussed by the participants. The program started by lighting the lamp by the guests. Thereafter, CGM (Material Management) of BSL Anil Kumar welcomed the guests. In his remarks, Director-in-Charge BSL Amarendu Prakash expressed his views on the challenges related to supply chain management in the post pandemic scenario, as well as called for brainstorming on the possibilities of further improvement in supply chain management. Other senior officers on stage also expressed their views on this topic.
Presentations were made by the team of Tata Steel and teams from BSL’s Stores & Logistics Imports Department and M-Junction as part of the program. Apart from this, a quiz on Supply Chain Management and Inventory was also organized. The program was conducted by ChitraParashar, Manager (MM) and at the end, Chief General Manager (MM) Harsh Nigam proposed vote of thanks.
