Former leather factory to be turned into student flats

Plans to turn a run down former leatherworks factory into 73 student flats have been given the go-ahead by Nottingham City Council.

The site, on Denman Street in the Radford area of Nottingham, is currently used as a lounge and snooker club called Hidden Spot.

Developer Sandy Kay has now been given the nod to transform the site into a scheme designed by BHB Architects.

A planning statement accompanying the planning application reads: “The existing factory building presents the best part of the site and there is an opportunity to conserve and retain this building as a key feature of the proposal.”
