When it comes to the world of FIFA 22, the Ultimate Team mode dominates in popularity, but with it, unfortunately, comes its issues. EA Sports had admitted to an error in one of its most recent updates, and it has become a consistent problem with EA’s patches as of late.
Fanatics of the FIFA 22 Ultimate Team mode received a 90-overall FUT Fantasy Christian Eriksen ahead of the promotional release due to an incorrect update, according to the FIFA Direct Communication Twitter account. The original 82-overall version of Eriksen was switched to the FUT Fantasy version by mistake, allowing players to collect the item.
Players who received the 90-overall FUT Fantasy Eriksen will be allowed to keep the unit, while the 82-overall version is returning to all FUT packs. FIFA Direct Communications highlighted that the Fantasy FUT Eriksen would be regarded like all other Fantasy FUT items, meaning it can be upgraded accordingly and will be priced the same way on the marketplace. Adding to this in an additional tweet, a fix is put in place to allow players to use the Fantasy FUT item in matches, whether it’s considered a starting player or a reserve. EA’s FIFA 22 Ultimate Team is the game’s biggest money-maker in terms of online content, with new digital content released every week.
With the shock of its premature release quickly patched and addressed by EA, players were pleasantly surprised with the compensation over the error. All players who owned a Christian Eriksen unit in their club have seen it upgraded to the FUT Fantasy version. After EA’s recent controversy with a loot box fine making headlines in the sports gaming world, it’s making strides to avoid further problems. The Eriksen unit was likely set to be released as part of an upcoming celebration campaign, scheduled for this week following his return to soccer from serious health concerns.
Players will be required to have already owned the Eriksen unit to acquire the 90-overall version. To claim it, they’ll need to enter Ultimate Team, select their club, and search for special card items. There, players will find the unit to add to their club, and they’ll be able to use it in online matches. Players looking to make a quick sell can do so in the marketplace, where the Eriksen unit is currently selling for 50,000 coins. The unit will likely become a hot commodity among teams looking to make ground in FIFA 22‘s Squad Building Challenge and other online modes.
