A battery included in a Costco item may not function, the giant wholesaler said in a product advisory to shoppers.
The battery included in Costco Item # 1465416 EBGO CC50 Electric Bicycle in a Costco warehouse location at some point from Feb. 1, 2022 to March 7 “may not function and/or recharge as intended,” the advisory states. “Please note that there is no danger related to this battery malfunction.”
To ensure the product performs to expectation, Costco is providing all affected members with a battery replacement.
To obtain your battery replacement please follow the following steps:
• Send us an email at [email protected] with all your information including name, a mailing address and telephone number.
• Please write EBGO Product Advisory 2022 in the subject Line
• EBGO will send you a confirmation of the shipment with a tracking number using your email address
• Replace the battery pack in your Bicycle. Please ensure to read the instructions included in your battery shipment
• Please return the defective battery using the label in the box of your new battery pack – please ensure to read the instructions included in your shipment
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this issue may cause,” Costco said in an online statement.

This advisory comes as Costco is transitioning its Capital One Mastercard holders over to the new CIBC card, which as come with some issues.
