Austin-based supply chain software company E2open announced Thursday that it will acquire Chicago-based Logistyx Technologies for $185 million.

Logistyx Technologies offers parcel shipping and omnichannel fulfillment technology that connects retailers, manufacturers and logistics providers to 550 in-network carriers, including UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS. Logistyx’s global parcel system will bolster E2open’s direct-to-consumer e-commerce offerings, according to a statement.

E2open CEO Michael Farlekas said in the statement that the acquisition will make E2open the “most comprehensive and integrated shipping solution provider, which covers all shipping modes including ocean, air, road, rail and parcel, and is powered by a global network of carriers and logistics service providers.”

Logistyx CEO Geoffrey Finlay said in the statement that the acquisition will allow more companies to benefit from the largest supply chain platform and network available.

“We provide our customers, which include top retailers, manufacturers and logistics providers, the automation, visibility and flexibility needed to simplify global fulfillment and compete in an omnichannel world — all within a one-stop, connected platform,” he said.

The purchase price of $185 million includes $90 million in cash at closing and two additional installments due 90 days and 180 days after closing.

E2open went public through a SPAC merger last year and acquired U.K.-based logistics software company BluJay Solutions in a transaction valued at about $1.7 billion, consisting of 72.4 million shares of stock and $760 million in cash.
