Trucker Pay, Young Driver Efforts Deployed to Help Supply Chain

The Biden administration, seeking to improve trucker pay and recruitment, is advancing initiatives through the Transportation and Labor departments in response to strains on the supply chain.

The recently enacted infrastructure law (Public Law 117-58) mandated the creation of a task force on predatory truck leasing, a women-focused trucking board, and apprenticeships that will let people as young as 18 drive trucks interstate—an idea pitched to ease supply chain bottlenecks.
