Fire Destroys Two Superior Warehouses

SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – An early morning fire on Thursday destroyed two large warehouses in the north end of Superior.

Fire crews were called on the report of a fire at 1507 North 1st Street around 5:50 a-m.

The fire quickly consumed the building and spread to the structure next door.

The Blatnik Bridge was closed in both directions for about an hour as smoke from the fire restricted visibility.

The warehouses were both built in the late 1800’s and fire crews will remain on the scene through the day to manage the smoldering buildings.

No injuries were reported while fighting the fire. The monetary loss and cause of the fire have not yet been determined.
