Brandini Toffee factory operating 16 hours a day ahead of holidays

News

A local candy company, Brandini Toffee, is working overtime to meet the holiday rush for its popular candies.

“We have production going from 5am until almost midnight,” said co-founder Brandon Weimer.

Weimer showed News Channel 3’s Madison Weil what it takes to fulfill thousands of orders ahead of the holidays on Friday morning.

Their famous recipe has four simple ingredients: butter, sugar, chocolate and almonds. The Rancho Mirage factory is operating about 16 hours a day and delivering their delicious treats worldwide.

Weimer started the company in the desert back in 2006 while he was in high school. “I was taught to make toffee when I was about 12 years old by a family friend,” said Weimer.

The local business expanded this year. He says they now employ 80 people and just opened their first spot in Los Angeles. “It’s our leap outside the greater Palm Springs and we’re hoping to expand beyond and see where we can take Brandini Toffee.

His advice for other aspiring young valley entrepreneurs: “For those that are trying to reach their own dreams…for us this was a very simple goal. You can never plan too far ahead.”
