2 killed in shooting at Burlington Coat Factory in North Hollywood; suspect in custody

Two people were killed in a shooting at a Burlington Coat Factory in North Hollywood late Thursday morning.

The shooting took place around 11:45 a.m. near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A man and a woman both died at the scene, the Associated Press reported.

A woman with moderate-to-serious injuries was taken to a trauma center, according to AP. It wasn’t immediately known if she’d been shot.

The suspected shooter was taken into custody, police said just before 12:10 p.m.

At least two people were shot, police earlier told KTLA.

No further details were immediately available.
