A new interchange on the Loop 202 in Gilbert was expected to be completed next spring. But supply chain issues are making it difficult for the contractor to get one specific product needed to complete the project.

ADOT spokesperson Doug Nintzel says the product they’re missing is individual to this one project.

“They are wall panels that have rubberized molds on one side, and they’re used to create artwork with a theme that is related to Gilbert’s railroad and agriculture history,” said Nintzel.

Nintzel says they are not sure if the issue will cause delays beyond the intended completion date, and that difficulties with this product will not cause delays with other ADOT projects.
