Pensioner sent family Christmas cards to the wrong address for 28 years

A PENSIONER sent family Christmas cards to the wrong address for 28 years because “nobody told me they’d moved out”.

David Scott, 75, posted them to a cousin despite not getting one in return.

The former fruit and veg wholesaler said they rarely saw each other and he only discovered his error when she died.

He said: “I sent a letter to her husband along with some old photos and put my address on it.

“The people who live at the house wrote back and said they were sorry but I had the wrong address.”

David, of Morecambe, Lancs, was then told by her son at the funeral she moved 20 years ago — only to find out later it was 28.

He said: “I was thinking, ‘What has this person been doing with all these cards over the years’?”

David now plans to continue sending a card there as a Christmas tradition.
