“We do see an uptake in recycling,” said Joe Suleyman, environmental management director of New Hanover County. “A lot of cardboard boxing is great, it’s a great material that can be recycled but we also see a lot more contamination as well. Things like the styrofoam insulation inserts that come with the new TV sets, the plastic film that everything is wrapped in, a lot of those things are recyclable but not in your household recycling bin.”
