Petersen, Quadratec giving away modified Jeep Wrangler in sweepstakes

The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles and West Chester, Pennsylvania-based Quadratec, “the world’s largest independent retailer and wholesaler of parts and accessories for Jeep vehicles,” are giving away a modified 2001 Jeep Wrangler that was restored by the museum’s Teen Auto Workshop Program.

“To enter the ‘My First Car’ giveaway, applicants need to complete a submission form, which includes a field to explain why they deserve to win the Jeep and where they would drive it first,” the announcement of the contest notes.

The giveaway is open to anyone over the age of 18 and runs December 31. The submission form can be found at www.petersen.org/my-first-car.

“Over the course of the eight-week Teen Auto Workshop Program, eight Los Angeles area high school students learned the basics of automotive maintenance and repair while modifying the 2001 Jeep Wrangler,” the news release reports.

“The vehicle received over $15,000 in upgrades, including a 2.5-inch suspension lift, Quadratec bumper and rocker guards, 33-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires, 15-inch Quadratec Rubicon Xtreme Wheels, LED headlights and taillights, Fishbone Tube Doors and Rear Bumper, Borla Cat Back exhaust, a Quadratec J5 light bar, and Kicker Speakers and Subwoofer.”

The build process was recorded and can be viewed on the museum’s YouTube channel.
