Canada October factory sales down 0.7% on autos, metal

Canadian factory sales decreased by 0.7% in October from September on lower sales in transportation equipment, as well as fabricated metal products, Statistics Canada said on Tuesday. The lower activity at auto assembly plants and parts plants was due in part to the United Auto Workers strike in the U.S.
