The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) announced a request for proposals to help Dominican Republic power regulator SIE develop battery energy storage system (BESS) regulations.
Last week, USTDA and SIE signed a technical cooperation agreement to assess existing regulations and recommend new BESS enabling regulations, considering grid connection, performance, and economic remuneration.
Proposals are due by January 12, according to USTDA information.

Honduras’ state power company Enee extended to January 18 the deadline to submit offers in the call to build substations Calpules, La Victoria and El Sitio, and expand 10 substations and one line.
Meanwhile, Comercial Laeisz was the sole bidder in Enee’s tender to supply, start-up and maintain four mobile substations at substations Bermejo, La Puerta, Choloma and Santa Fe.
The contracts fall under an IDB-financed program.

Costa Rica’s state fuel company Recope declared void a process to select a consultant to prepare a roadmap for niche uses of LPG, specifically cargo transport and industrial heat applications.
Recope said that participant IGPCR did not fully meet bidding rule requirements for the 140-day contract. A new call has yet to be launched.
