Keen Opens Factory In Dominican Republic

Keen Inc. announced the opening of its newest owned factory, Keen Dominican Republic (KDR), spanning 55,000 square feet in Santiago.

Keen’s new factory will produce its footwear, led by the iconic Newport H2 Sandal, turning out 500,000 pairs a year, beginning 2021, with the capacity to grow to 2 million pairs in the future. The first pairs are scheduled to arrive to Keen Garages and at retail in July, 2021

As part of Keen’s Detox the Planet initiative, the KDR factory will adhere to Keen’s stringent Restricted Substances List (RSL). This means that all footwear will be consciously created to minimize impact on the planet and will be PFC Free, and free of antimicrobials, pesticides and biocides.
