Sales soar at supply chain and logistics firm

Sales have passed £55m at a Liverpool-headquartered supply chain and logistics company which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, with directors committing to a series of continued investments.

Warrant Group is one of the UK’s largest, privately owned companies of its kind. The business supports clients across a wide range of sectors including FMCG, food and drink, retail, the chemical sector and waste recycling.

For the year to 31 January 2019, the company reported turnover of £55.2m compared to £37.5m the prior period.

Pre-tax profits were also up from £22,454 to £305,954.

In a business review alongside the accounts, directors said they were satisfied with the performance, attributing the increased turnover to new customers and organic growth within the existing client base.

Looking ahead, Warrant Group added: “The general economic climate is still challenging and looks to be difficult throughout the coming year. However, the directors are committed to developing the business through continued investment in strong systems and a high calibre sales force which will lead to further business wins on a consistent basis across all services.

“The directors are fully aware of the prevailing worldwide trading difficulties but believe that the company is in a strong position and regard the outlook for the company as positive.”

The business is currently working on a new brand and website which will be launched in January and assist with a sales push for 2020 onwards.

Warrant Group was founded in 1989 and acquired by owner and managing director Ian Jones in 2011.
