Firefighters battle 11-alarm fire at Passaic factory, 1 firefighter hospitalized

Firefighters are battling an 11-alarm fire at the Atlantic Coast
Fibers recycling factory that started early Saturday.

Crews from Bergen, Passaic and Morris counties are fighting the fire that
started on Seventh Avenue in Passaic at around 1 a.m.

The weather made the task more difficult as fire hydrants froze due to freezing
conditions.

One firefighter was hospitalized during the fire.
Mayor Hector Lora says the cause of the fire is under investigation.

He says other commercial businesses in the area were not
impacted by the fire.

More than 70 employees inside the factory at the time of the fire have all been
accounted for.
