Towering freight rates in container market are not due to blank sailings

The severely over-heated container market with currently towering freight rates, a shortage of containers and booming earnings for container lines is not the result of the companies having blanked sailings to keep prices up.

It is a myth that “nefarious blank sailings” are artificially helping to push up freight rates in the container market to the detriment of shippers and their customers, writes Sea-Intelligence, which has analyzed the numbers.
