Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday issued instructions to officials of the Food department to expedite paddy procurement under MSP. The CM said all permissible facilities should be made available to farmers at the paddy purchase centres. He also asked authorities concerned to ensure that the farmers are faced with no trouble when they come to sell their produce.
The CM issued these directives at a high-level meeting with officials of various departments at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow on Monday. Referring to the Varasat Abhiyan, the CM stressed that in undisputed matters, succession proceedings should be completed within stipulated timeframe. Yogi also asked the officials to be vigilant with regards to avian influenza (bird flu). He said bird flu cases should be tested at Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly.
