DHL expects no container market stabilization until second half of 2021

If shippers and logistics companies had hoped the sky-high prices for shipping a container at sea would subside after New Year’s Eve, they are likely going to be disappointed.

Because the world’s logistics majors and container liners expect that the upturn, including a chaotic market with a shortage of free slots and container equipment will continue some time into 2021, a press conference held by Hapag-Lloyd reveals. Here, the company’s CEO Rolf Habben Jansen participated, while DHL Global Freight Forwarding’s chief executive, Tim Scharwath, also sat on the digital panel.
