Low-volume car manufacturers have realized that the key to success is offering a sport utility vehicle alongside sports cars to gain access to a wider audience. This strategy has worked wonders for Porsche with the Cayenne and other automakers like Bentley, Jaguar, Lamborghini, and Rolls-Royce have followed suit. The 2021 Aston Martin DBX is the latest addition to the luxury SUV segment, having just been revealed during the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The DBX is Aston’s first-ever SUV model and building it required a new factory. Aston Martin Lagonda has just opened its new plant at St Athan in Wales and a ceremony was hosted to celebrate the occasion. Group CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer was in attendance, as was the First Minister of Wales, Rt Hon Mark Drakeford.
