Haribo Breaks Ground on Candy Factory

As the pandemic rages, so does the sweet tooth for many homebound Americans.

Recent research says that three-fourths of consumers in the U.S. said are now more inclined to seek out snacks they consider “comfort foods.”

It seems, then, there’s no better time for the European confectionery company, Haribo, to kick off its first North American manufacturing operation.

On December 14th, Haribo broke ground on a factory in Pleasant Prairie, WI.

The company says it hopes the factory will be able to enhance its ability to quickly reach American customers.

The facility marks Haribo’s largest capital investment in history.

Once completed, the 500,000 square foot factory will provide 385 jobs producing Haribo’s iconic “Goldbears.”
