The Key Account Specialist is an integral part of the Hopworks Sales Team and plays a key role in growing HUB’s business and brand in and beyond the PNW. The ideal candidate has alcoholic beverage sales experience within Grocery/C-Store/Drug/On-prem channels, a passion for craft beer, and a commitment to HUB’s mission and brand. This position is based at HUB’s mothership brewery and pub in SE Portland.

Position Summary:
The Hopworks Key Account Specialist (KAS) is responsible for managing the relationships between the brewery, high volume chain accounts and wholesaler partners to ensure the continuity, growth, and enhancement of HUB’s brewery wholesale divisions and retail business in and beyond the PNW. The KAS is a multi-dimensional, dynamic self-starter who has a passion for life and craft beer as well as a deep understanding and knowledge of the craft brewing community and marketplace. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and the CEO and works closely with sales, marketing, brewery, and leadership teams.
Job Requirements/Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of business related to a set of specified key accounts

Conduct regular planning and business review meetings with customers to ensure satisfaction and revenue growth for Hopworks and our partners

Develop chain account goals and business plans with Hopworks Sales Director and Wholesaler partners

Ensure plan execution and facilitation through distributor network

Manage assigned annual budget to implement goals and strategy

Implement approved marketing and sales strategies at wholesale and retail level

Lead and present Hopworks objectives with distributor and retailer partners

Participate in creating, managing, and driving the financial, social, and environmental plan to ensure success and alignment with B Corp standards

Promote Hopworks in the consumer sector when visiting bars, restaurants, and stores that sell alcohol
Skills & Experience:
-
5+ years’ experience selling alcoholic beverages to national/regional/independent accounts

Experience in growing company profitability

Established connections with key chains/retailers with the Grocery/C-Store/Drug/On-prem channels. Industry networking ability (Supplier, Wholesaler, Retailer)

Broad-Based knowledge of beverage marketing, sales, and merchandising strategies

Experience and Understanding of VIP and IRI/Nielsen sales data

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

High level of problem-solving, negotiating, and people management skills

Strong written and oral communications, including ability to develop and deliver executive-level presentations

Develop and execute account strategies in line with Hopworks Marketing and brand standards

Strong computer skills a must, including demonstrated experience with Power Point/MS Office/Excel

Possesses strong leadership and management skills; effectively influences and motivates others

Respond creatively to change in a steady growth environment

Strong focus on the customer experience, both internal and external

Highly Desired skills:

Prefer Bachelor’s degree in related field, advanced training a definite advantage.

Preferred work experience with full-service restaurant concepts and wholesale brewing operations.

Working Conditions:

This position is a mix of office and field-based work. At times, there will be substantial travel mixed with regular desk work.
