Nestle’s U.S. subsidiary to expand Georgia factory

Nestle SA said late Tuesday that its subsidiary Nestle Purina PetCare would invest $550 million to expand its pet-food manufacturing facility in Georgia, U.S., as a result of growing demand.

The Swiss food-and-beverage giant said it would create up to 130 jobs at the Hartwell facility–where flagship brands like Fancy Feast are produced–adding processing, packaging and warehouse capacity.

The investment is part of a broader growth plan for Purina in the U.S., which includes the new factories in Ohio and North Carolina, the company said.
